A mile a day keeps the doctor away! Walk a mile every day of the Let's Walk Festival. That's about 2000 steps, and 20 - 30 minutes of walking. Less if you walk briskly!

Can you do some of your steps at a brisker pace? Walking briskly is great for your heart, lungs, circulatory system as well as your muscles, joints and generating that feel good factor! Try it 3 times over the fortnight.

Why not try a longer weekend walk? Take the family out? Meet up with friends for a socially distant chat. Explore somewhere new or discover something closer to home. There are two weekends during the Festival. Try to do a 3 mile walk each weekend.

Green space activity walk
Give your walk to the local park an extra focus! Or focus on the trees, local gardens or hedges near you. Make it a 3000 step walk and make the most of it. 3000 steps is about 1.5 miles, or 30-45 minutes.

If you're working from home, why not plan a 30 minute walking meeting on the phone this week? If you're not working, perhaps you could phone a friend or family member for a catch up whilst on a walk. Either way, swap sitting down during the call for walking and talking!
